What are studio sticks?

Foundation? Yes! Concealer? Yes! It's both!! Studio sticks are available in light, medium, or dark and can basically do whatever you want them to do and that's why we love them. We try to bring you simple, versatile products, and here's one of them.  I wear mine under my mineral foundation to conceal my secrets but some wear it alone as a full coverage foundation too. Use your fingers, a brush, or a sponge- it's makeup your way!

Why I love this mascara!

It's all in the brush! This super fierce close up will show you how awesome this brush is. It's not your normal mascara brush. It's more prickly to evenly coat and separate your lashes. Cliche mascara is available in black only. It's a non waterproof formula because waterproof formulas always end up drying out the lashes, it's just the nature of the beast and we feel it's not worth it. This mascara will stay on even when a little water comes your way but won't make your lashes brittle. Give it a try.

makeup your way remix

Ok, so we used to allow customers to customize full face palettes and would call it "makeup your way", which was great, 2 medium pans, and 4 small- perfecto. BUT NOW- makeup really is your way. We have large, medium, and small pans and a ton of different ways to rock them. Compacts, palettes, and pans, oh my!! Our most popular has been the freestyle palette:

because you can put whatever pans you want in there. Awesome! This is a much more eco and wallet friendly approach to makeup as there is less packaging and you only buy the colors you really want. Enjoy!

True Life: I have a fear of foundation

Ok, I know I'm not alone here. Here's why I used to be afraid of foundation and how it lead me to our new mineral foundation product today. Once upon a time, I worked in at a local makeup store in South Florida. I used to be the beauty consultant and often worked alone. I remember everytime someone walked in the door, I would pray that they wouldn't be asking me to match their foundation. There seemed to be about 45 different formulas in a million different colors. Finding the perfect match based on a stripe on someone's chin just wasn't cutting it for me. I would get lost in all the colors, formulas, charts, and customer requests. That is, until I discovered mineral foundation. Once, this particular line released a mineral foundation, I was good to go. I matched everyone with it and didn't cringe at the thought.

The reason I love, love, love mineral foundation is because it truely works well on any skin type, no matter the person or age. Also, it has buildable coverage so based on the brush and they way you apply, you can get anything from a sheer look to full coverage and anything in between. And the kicker is the colors! Since mineral foundation is so blendable, you don't need to match the color exactly to your skin!! My prayers had been answered. And now, it's the only foundation I offer in my line. We have a pressed formula for no mess (that was probably my only mineral complaint, was the mess) and 2 brushes to choose from to help you get the coverage you want. Yes, brushes really do make the difference, flat for more coverage and a kabuki for less.

Guest Blogger MB Fashion Diva tell us all about brushes

Well many of you may know the cosmetic brushes and their uses, but there are a lot out there who dont know. (REMEMBER! These are the Main basic makeup brushes!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Okay so lets start with
Face:
The Foundation brush- The Foundation brush is used for applying mineral foundation- liquid foundation as well.
Concealer Brush- The Concealer brush is used to apply & cover spots, uneven skin tone, blemishes, marks on the face.
Blush(er) Brush- It is mainly used to apply blush on the cheek bone.
Powder Brush- It can be used to apply a shimmer/bronzer to the face/cheek bones, or to apply loose powder over the foundation/concealor.
Eyes:
Mascara- to apply on the eyelashes. Many mascaras have no effect/or give volume to your eyelashes. Some do.
Eyebrow- The Eyebrow brush helps you shape & define your eyebrows.
Eyeliner Brush- a very thin brush used to line your eyes (applying eyeliner)
Eyeshadow Brushes:
* Contour Brush
* Crease Brush
* Lid Brush
* Blending brush
Those are the main Eyeshadow brushes used when applying makeup on the eye; eyeshadow.
Lips:
Lip Brush- helps to blend in the "Lip product"; lipstick; lipgloss onto the lip. It is a smooth, soft, thin brush.
Logo Evolution
Although we haven't been around that long, we've managed to go through a minor identity crisis already. Hey, at least we are admitting it :-) We've got it all figured out now.
So, here's the story:
This was our first logo. Not so cute, we know. But we liked it for a little while.
We thought that the girl in the first logo was not trendy enough for us. And she was defining our brand too much. This makeup is for everyone, not just people that looked like our little cartoon lady. So we ditched her and were left with this.
After some more thought, we decided that we didn't like the cartoonish letters either. A little too Disney for our crowd. Don't get me wrong, we love Disney, but maybe some of our customers don't right?
So here we are now. We finally did it! We found a logo that doesn't define, just says what it is, plain, simple, and cute. You still might find the previous logos on some items, we still think it looks cute on our full face palettes that are used for studios and teams. But everything else carries this logo now. Love it? We do.
Guest Blogger MB Fasion Diva shares makeup looks
Well today I decided to give you something different, a different blogpost. So today I will be throwing amazing Ideas for Simple Gorgeous everyday Makeup looks for TEENS! We know that there are some teens out there who aren't able to wear so much makeup, or dramatic makeup that they like, well remember it doesn't always have to be "Dramatic eyes" or so much exaggerated makeup, a simple makeup look with a beauty touch is all you need to be simple yet gorgeous in your own style and personality.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

* Base that matches your skin color- Mineral Powder to give you that gorgeous glow- baby pink lips- and some volumizing mascara

* Base- Mineral Powder- Mascara- Light silver eye liner, but instead go for the corners of the eye, it brings out your eyes, so people will notice them- Pink lips

* Base- Mineral Powder- Light Pink Blush touch over/on the cheekbone- Light Naked Lips/or Baby pink- Mascara
* Base- Mineral Powder- A "dry roast/or peachy" colored lip liner (DONT just line the outer lip, color the entire lips)- and Mascara

Remember! You can always mix and match, but these are Ideas for those Young Teens who aren't able to put on so much makeup like how they desire, why not go for simple but gorgeous makeup looks?

Keirsten Kafka interview, model

Keirsten Kafka is a model and an actress. She graduated from the University of Florida and moved across the country by herself to follow her dreams.

Nickname: Keir
Biggest phobia: Losing someone I love
Beauty product I can’t live without: Mascara and Vaseline (bet you've never heard that answer, haha!)
Favorite off camera outfit: Might sound "cliche"... sweats!
Favorite gig: I always love swimsuit runway.
What best describes me: a) girly, b) tomboy, c) total glam, d) a little of everything: Mostly girly, but I grew up with all brothers and LOVE sports, so I can definitely hang with the guys.
In 10 years I want to be: Established as an actress or a supermodel. One can dream, right? ;)
My idol is: My beautiful and inspirational mother
What I get the most compliments on: Legs, eyes and butt, I guess, haha!
Most embarrassing moment: I hate forgetting people's names... Then, when you introduce them to someone else, you have to do the whole, "This is my friend, ______," and let them just reintroduce themselves. That's the trick! You won't forget it after that.
Stupidest rumor I’ve heard about myself: Where to even start? Most rumors are not only false, but incredibly vapid. Even though I'm very social/outgoing, I feel like I am also the most reserved girl. I hate hearing promiscuous rumors, especially when men make up stories in an attempt to enhance their social reputations. I used to really become bothered by rumors, but have since learned not to take them personally.
Best beauty tip I’ve ever gotten: Take your make-up off every night before bed. And moisturize!
My friends make fun of me for: 1) Being goofy and the baby, 2) Putting too much on my plate

Guest Blogger Divarevolutions shows us how to get the LC look

Lauren Conrad is for a lot of us known a style icon. With her great approach on beauty and fashion, a lot of teenagers and women like to peel off the same looks she does. If that's a wrong idea? No, of course not, because she looks stunning!

Today I will show you how you can create this stunning look Lauren wore on a photoshoot. Knowing it's probably done by a make-up artist must not scare you: it's super easy to do yourself!

Start out by evening out your skintone: after applying your moisturiser, get your ''any coverage'', and gently dot it on your imperfections and under eyes

After that, get your ''mineral philosophy'' and dust a small amount on to your skin.

If you don't have that Californian sunkissed look (like me!), you can fake it with ''bronze baby'' bronzing powder, and to finish off the face, use a tiny amount of the ''Cheek tint'' in ''pink'' on your cheekbones, and set the face with''ballerina pink'', which is a great finishing powder with a pink mauve in it.

Now the most fun part's coming: the eyes!

We're first going to define the eyebrows by gently following the natural arch of the eyebrows. You can either use ''brow powder'' or ''brow sketch stick'' doing this. Then, take ''primetime'' eyeshadowbase and apply it all over your eyelid. By applying this, your eyeshadow will last longer and it won't crease.

After applying the base, we are going to get ''creme''eyeshadow, and apply this all over the eyelid. This evens out your eyelid. Get '' Smudge Sketch Stick'' to rim the outer part of your lower lashline, and smudge it with the smudgebrush that comes with the Sketch Stick. Then get Smudge Sketch Stick again, and line your upper lashline. To get a cute shimmery effect at the outercorner, get''witchcraft'' eyeshadow with the smudgeside of the Smudge Sketch Stick, and smudge it over the outer 3rd of the upper eyelid.

Then, curl your lashes and apply 2 or 3 coats of ''lashware''mascara, because we want to create gorgeous thick and long lashes.
For the lips, use ''glossware'' in ''peach'', and apply''lipglaze'' on top of that, to get the perfect shine.

And then we're finished! It it súper easy, and it takes only 10 minutes of your time. Pretty cool, huh?

Thanks for reading this blog, and i'll talk to you guys later!

xoxo Annemiek

Jessica Kumari, Channel 1 News

She's an anchor for Channel One news, played in schools across the country every monrning.

How'd you become a reporter?:
My first “on air” job was at News 12 The Bronx – a local 24 hour cable station in NYC. I had a 3 week “trial” period where they tested me out and made me shoot, edit and report…I had never studied journalism …didn’t know how to use a camera…and cried every single day when I got home because it was so hard...but I was so determined to “pass” the trial period I did…and it’s been much better ever since!
Advice for others wanting to do the same:
Never give up! If you really want something go after it – don’t let ANYONE discourage you (one producer told me I’d never make it because I wasn’t pretty enough)
Nickname:
Jessie (but only my Mom can call me that!)
Biggest phobia:
Believe it or not – flying in planes…I travel so much but still get nervous any time there’s turbulence
Beauty product I can’t live without:
mascara…a girl’s gotta have long eyelashes!
Favorite story/assignment:
hmmm this is a hard one…I’ve done a lot of fun stories…despite all the places I’ve been, my first international story is my favorite. I covered the melting glaciers in Bolivia. I got to climb a glacier…it was so cool!
What best describes me: a) girly, b) tomboy, c) total glam, d) a little of everything
Definitely a little of everything…depending on the day…sometimes even the time of day!
In 10 years I want to be:
working as a Network reporter
My idol is:
My Mom…she is the coolest person in the world…and she’s given me so much support and love
What I get the most compliments on:
my work ethic – I work really hard!
Most embarrassing moment:
When I was working for the show Nightly News with Tom Brokaw, I was filling in for the Executive Producer’s assistant. I was taking his calls when Dick Ebersol called…he’s in charge of NBC Olympics and started Saturday Night Live…I didn’t realize he was a big deal and told him my boss was too busy to talk…biiiiiig mistake!
Best beauty tip I’ve ever gotten:
blend blend blend! (eye makeup..foundation..blush…whatever!)
My friends make fun of me for:
a lot! Hmmm chewing gum nonstop, going to bed early, putting ketchup on everything!
One thing I wish I knew 5 years ago:
Enjoy everything and everyone…laugh more…there will always be time to work hard and sometimes you just need to relax and have fun!

Beauty Treatments and Beauty Tricks!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Beauty Treatmentz~
Natural Exfoliater??
Yes, there are many Natural Ingredients which you can use for Exfoliating, Scrub, Moisturizing, etc. Well here is one special ingredient for exfoliating!
Sea Salt. Yes, Sea Salt. You first rinse your face with warm water, and grab about a tablespoon of the Sea Salt in your hand, and start scrubbing. (Please Avoid the eyes) (use your hands to scrub, or use a warm small washcloth) Wait for 2-3 minutes, them rinse with cold water. This is a great way to exfoliate.
Another Great way to Exfoliate is a special Trick, that was shown in Youtube Beauty Guru "Michelle Phan" beauty videos.
All you need is a tomato, and some sugar! Simple! First you cut the tomato in half, (pour a bit of sugar on a clean plate) you then grab one half of the tomato and pat it on top of the sugar, make sure the downside is evenly coated with sugar. (make sure you rinse your face first!) You then start scrubbing your face, make sure you scrub in circular motions. (Check her video out! Tomato Scrub!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Skin Care Tips:

* Make sure to exfoliate at least once a week

* A Good body scrub removes dead and flakey skin

* When outside (park, beach, open mall, garden, outside during daylight) make sure to to wear a pinch of sunscreen, more importantly on the face, If your not protected, the sun will damage your skin, it is best to keep your skin healthy.

* For clean and smooth skin, you gotta keep hydrated (Water, and Sheilding Lotion- ex. Skin MD Natural)

* When you have acne, or pimples, or zits...DO NOT cover it up with makeup!! It will just get worse, by covering it up with makeup the pimple, zit, acne, etc. won't be able to breath, causing it to bloat up and get worse! So please, take care of your skin! If it is an important day, a light pinch of foundation won't hurt if it is only temporary, but after the moment; day PLEASE remove your makeup and let your skin breath!

Hair Care Tips-

* To Much Ironing your hair, with absolutley damage your hair, no doubts.

* You know there are also many other ways to curl your hair rather than burning your hair with an iron to curl it, (Sally Beauty offers many Hair curlers, which have positive beautiful results, checkout my Sally Beauty Curlformers Review for more info on the curlers!)

* By applying to much hair product (mousse, Hair spray, volume spray, hair perfume, etc.) not only will it damage your hair, but by using too much of these products there is a result or your hair ending up like "blegh!" so please care for your hair ;)

Maintaining your shape -tips-:

* Drink lots of water everyday (I usually drink 1 liter a day, and sometimes 2, but dont push yourselves, by drinking two water bottles a day your fine, you just need to keep hydrated!)

* Don't go Pills, Sugery, medicine just to get a perfect figure, I mean if you get surgery you might get a figure....but not natural figure, not the 'toned' figure, not the 'curvy' figure.

* Will I loose Fat (or weight) if I eat less?? No! You won't you will in fact gain weight if you eat less, or probably get Amnorexia! You need to feed your metabolism, your Metabolism is what burns that fat and those calories, and if you don't feed it with proper food it will just build up more and more fat.

* Do I really have to workout? Yes! I mean your not going to loose weight or fat just by sitting around, you need to eat properly and excersize, but dont go overboard. Janette Manrara Interview

You've seen her on "So You Think You Can Dance" and dancing with Univision TV. She also won best actress in Miami-Dade County her Senior Year of High School. She's danced with numerous artists in the hispanic community (Celia Cruz, Willy Chirino, David Bisbal, just to name a few). The studio she dances with (DanceTown) has won 7 National Dance Competitions across the U.S. in the past 5 years!

PS: Make sure to scroll down for a super cute pic of Janette as a little girl :-)

Nickname: "Morena"! My dance teacher has called me that since I was a kid because I always had a tan from the beach. It happens when you grow up in Miami, FL!
Biggest phobia: Definitely roaches!!! Yuck! LOL!
Beauty product I can't live without: Concealer and Mascara! LOL! I like having big and circle free eyes!
Favorite off camera outfit: I'd must admit.... Sweats and a comfy T-Shirt! LOL!
Favorite gig: Without question, the So You Think You Can Dance Tour! It is unbelievable to see just how many people really appreciate me as a dancer and a person! It has been an amazing accomplishment for me!
What best describes me: a) girly, b) tomboy, c) total glam, d) a little of everything: I'll have to go with "D) a little bit of everything". I have girly moments, but I love soccer and baseball, and I can't help but enjoy the "glam" of being in front of cameras! LOL!
In 10 years I want to be:.... a mommy and married! But also a very successful actress/dancer!
My idol is: I can't say I have one.... I look up to different individuals for different qualities that they have. I truly learn and grow from so many people that I meet or read about.
What I get the most compliments on: Well, lots of people tell me they love my spunky personality! :)
Most embarrassing moment: Oh Gosh... How to pick! LOL! It's between: 1) my first day of high school with a huge band aid on my neck because I had just had two cysts removed, and not to mention with braces I had just gotten a week before, or 2) when I fell right over my dance partner and rolled on the floor... again, ROLLED on the floor, while in a dance competition doing a Tango number. I don't know... it's a tough one! LOL
Stupidest rumor I've heard about myself: Well it's not really a rumor, but apparently everybody thinks I'm a lot taller than what I actually am! LOL! I definitely get the, "Oh my gosh! You look so much taller on TV!" comment every time I meet someone! But that good.... it means I dance tall and proud! LOL
Best beauty tip I've ever gotten: I was taught how to apply eye shadow! Wow! Amazing what proper eye shadow etiquette can do to make your eyes that much prettier!
My friends make fun of me for:..... being addicted to Disney and Jim Carrey! LOL! I can't help it! I'm a kid and comedian at heart!
One thing I wish I knew 5 years ago: Nothing. I think everything in life happens for a reason and whatever decisions I have made in the past were for a bigger purpose in my life. I've learned so much and I've grown as an individual from all of my experiences. I wouldn't want to have known anything more than what I
did at the time.

Ashley Holmes Interview

You've seen her on "The Real Housewives of New Jersey", she's the daughter of Jacqueline Laurita. Stay tuned for season two, coming soon.

Cliché Questions

What are you doing now?:
Right now I'm just focusing on me, I took a semester off from college to work and relax a little before I jump right into college life. I'll be starting school sometime in January 2010.

Will there be another season?"
Yes. There will be another season. We just started filming not too long ago and as of right now it's scheduled to air sometime between February/March 2010.

Will you be on it?:
Yes. I will be on it and so will my mother of course. :)

Nickname:
Umm.. well there's the typical nickname for anyone named ashley.. "ash".. but then there's shmashley or shmash.. I'd say those are the most common out of all of my nicknames

Biggest phobia:
Hands down flying. I hate to fly. Also, I am not a fan of spiders. It doesn't matter what shape or size they are. haha.

Beauty product I can’t live without:
Hmm.. it's hard to pick just one.. I'd have to say.. mascara and foundation.

Favorite outfit right now:
Ooo that's tough... I LOVE FASHION!!! .. hmm.. I don't really have a favorite.. everything I buy is my favorite... My style doesn't really have a name.. I look at what other celebrities are wearing and I try to make it my own.

Favorite episode:
Hmm.. my favorite episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey would have to be the Finale episode of course. I get my car in that episode.. then of course you have the infamous table flipping scene... gotta love it !

What best describes me: a) girly, b) tomboy, c) total glam, d) a little of everything :
I'd have to say D.. a little of everything. I have my days where I get super dressed up.. and then I have my days where I'm just in sweatpants and a football jersey watching the game. ( which by the way I am a hardcore Cowboys/Steelers fan thank you very much! )

In 10 years I want to be:
In ten years I would like to be a college graduate. If I don't have a somewhat steady career acting or modeling by then, then I want to have a steady career. I am interested in doing many things. I would love to be a wedding planner. Fashion show production is very interesting to me. Also, I wouldn't mind a career in music industry management. Who knows where life will take me.

My idol is:
Well, my idol as far as life goes, is definitely my mom. As far as fashion goes, although my mom has a great sense of style, I look at celebrities for inspiration. Some of those celebrities include - Nicole Richie, Marykate Olsen, Ashley Olsen, Victoria Beckham, Ashlee Simpson, Jessica Simpson, Jessica Szohr, Megan Fox, Blake Lively and Leighton Meester.

What I get the most compliments on:
I get a lot of compliments on random things. Not always my outfit. People will normally make a general comment like.. " I like how you put this together " .. and then follow up with .. "BUT I LOVEEEEE your ___ " .. they normally compliment an accessory of mine.

Most embarrassing moment:
Hmm.. my most embarrassing moment.. I'm gonna have to say that my most embarrassing moment was when I had to attend summer school, and it was broadcasted for the world to see!

Stupidest rumor I’ve heard about myself:
Stupidest rumor I've ever heard about myself... Hmm.. Well there's definitely been a lot of those in the past. This rumor isn't really about me, but it does involve me... I'm gonna have to say it was when I first moved to New Jersey, and people thought my mom was a stripper just because we were from Las Vegas. HAHA! I mean, COME ON! ..really ?

Best beauty tip I’ve ever gotten:
Keep it simple. There's no need to cake on the foundation and pound on crazy colored eyeshadow to look good. Keep it simple. Keep it classy. Stick to tones the emphasize your natural beauty.

My friends make fun of me for:
Saying "LIKE" all the time ! .. It really is a bad habit. I want to take a speech class to fix it. I have no idea how it got so bad. HAHA!

One thing I wish I knew 5 years ago:
I wish I realized how important school was. Even though I graduated, and I start at my #1 choice school in the spring.. I wish I would have spent more time focusing on my academics than my social life, because now that I'm out of high school.. I realize none of that stuff matters afterwards. It's just a bunch of DRAMA that could have easily been avoided.

Cliche Products:
the Lash and Eyebrow Enhancer and the brush set. As far as eyeshadow colors go, I like h2, h3, n4, n5, n6, c6, u5 and u6.
