Once upon a time, yours truely was a dancer. I stopped my senior year of high school after several years. I was never an amazing dancer by any means however I loved it lots. Since I work in makeup now I must live vicariously through other dancers. Hence, the creation of Cliche Dance Makeup Compact. I just couldn't resist! It's pretty fab and I hope all of you dancers out there like it. PS- never give up on your dancing dreams. Anyway it comes with 3 eyeshadows, a blush, browdefiner, and red lipstick- all in one place! Pretty amazing right? To make life even sweeter, it can be used as a fundraiser for your dance studio. You can keep a portion of every sale to one of your dancers. The best part is you really don't have to do any work and you still make $$$. Some studios are even making it mandatory to buy or are adding it into tuiton. Gotta love it. Also, its totally customizable, you can request different colors, no problemo. Sorry about the short blog. Busy day.

It's all in the application
Most makeup artists tend to carry a huge set of brushes, very intimidating for someone that wants to recreate a look done by an artist. Where to begin??? Well here's a little secret, I am a makeup artist myself and I rarely ever use more than 5 brushes on myself or anyone else. Most of them serve similar purposes. That's why we created the essential brush kit. It contains only the most important brushes, several of which can be used for multiple purposes. It is also important to have quality brushes or else they are simply useless. These brushes are made of natural animal hair for the best application. Natural hair is very soft and holds the makeup very well. And yes it is true that you can make brushes from animal hair without harming the animal. Hey, I've got 3 cats (yes 3!) and so I'm quite the animal lover myself. We made them in zebra print pattern for a little attitude. Look for more patterns in the future!

Glam Organics?
Yes GLAM organics! When you think of mineral organic makeup you probably think of messy loose powder everywhere. Well it doesn't have to be that way. Our mineral makeup is pressed and there is no mess. We currently carry two compacts of glam organic makeup in naturals or colors but stay tuned for some new ones launching in mid-fall :-) Organic makeup is a little different in application because it is made of different ingredients than traditional makeup. The colors are usually not as rich and high pigmented but with the right application you won't even notice the difference. When applying glam organic eyeshadow you should lightly tap the makeup on your eyes with the brush rather than sweep it on as you normally would. The pressed powder makes this job easy without getting makeup all over your face. If you're still having issues try the mascara shield. It works wonders.

compacts, compacts, compacts
Ok we confess, we are crazy about compacts. We just can't get enough! I mean, why wouldn't you love something that fits all your makeup? We carry all kinds of compacts. There are the mini design your own compacts with 4 eyeshadows or the standard design your own compacts that also include 2 blushes. We also have two premade compacts for smokey or sultry eyes with mirror clings that have all the how to's and tips that you need. There is also a limited edition compact that changes every season and sometimes contains colors that cannot be bought in any other compact. We even have a compact that was designed just for dancers. Ask us about our Cliche Dance and Cheer Program for your studio! Anyway, look out for our brand new standard sized compacts with white interior and black exterior that includes even better brushes than before! Coming soon...

Oh how Cliche...
cliche- something that has become overly familiar or commonplace
So why are we called Cliche Cosmetics you ask? Well that's a great question. After I finished makeup school I decided that I NEEDED to create a cosmetics line. I wanted a line that was simple and only offered the essentials, not a bunch of random chaos that confused people even more. Hey there's a million different lines out there and billion different products, it can definately get crazy! So I decided that I needed to find a name for this fabulous line that I would create. If I told you it took me about 6 months to come up with a name, I would not be exaggerating in the least. Eventually I settled on the name Cliche Cosmetics. It has a ring to it don't you think? The name was a cross between two theories. One being that all makeup lines are created for the same general purpose, to make people feel better about themselves. The other focused more on our makeup line itself. We decided to create compacts that helped people to create the looks of season or whatever look they decided to invent themselves. Both of these theories involve things that we have seen before and are familar with. How cliche... but we love it!
