Instantly Brighter Eyes

One way to brighten up your eyes is use a metallic eyeshadow such as gold or silver in the inside corner of the eye. Adding a metallic shadow in the inner corners make the eye instantly pop with a neutral eyeshadow on the lids. This look is great when you are going for a simple look but still want to bring attention to your eyes. Curl your lashes and load up on black mascara and you will have instantly brighter eyes.

Back To School Makeup

Many of you including myself are heading back to school and still want to look fabolous while we are in school but dont have much time to do our makeup in the morning. Well, ladies I have some tips and tricks for looking fabolous at school.

1. Foundation- when it comes to foundation if you don't need it don't wear it. A tinted mosturizer will do the the trick for covering minor spots and giving you an flawless complexion. For those who want to wear foundation, I suggest choosing a light to medium coverage foundation to avoid looking cakey and looking too overdone for school.

2. Eyes- as far as the eyes go curling your lashes and adding a little mascara will make your eyes pop and make you look alert and ready to listen to that two hour lecture.

3. Cheeks- peach and pink blush are great because they look good on all skin types and complexions and gives the face a nice wash of color

4. Lips- a nice colored lipgloss will definitely complete your look. Or if you are like me and love lipstick a nice rosy lipstick will be subtle enough for school. Also, try a lipstain that won't dry out your lips. Lipstains are the perfect combination of a lipstick and lipgloss all rolled into one product.

I hope these tips and tricks help you and cut your makeup routine in half. Also, let me know some of your tips for getting ready in the morning for school.

Which Mask is Right For You?

One important aspect of many women's beauty regimen is using a face mask once or twice a week. Face masks are great when one wants to feel pampered and help to refresh and rejuvenate the face. Different face masks serve different purposes and I have listed the benefits of using these three different types of masks.

Clay Mask

- Absorbs excess oil on the face

- Helps with those suffering from acne

- Helps heal acne blemishes

Cream-based Mask

- Helps to hydrate and add moisture to the skin

- Softens and smooths the skin

Exfoliating Mask

- Removes dead skin cells

- Gel Mask helps to remove dirt and dead skin cells from the face

One face mask that is great for those with acne blemishes is Queen Helen Mint Julep Mask. I use the mask weekly and it really has help to heal my acne scars. It's also affordable and can be found at any retail store that sells facial products.

The Cat Eye

The infamous 60's cat eyeliner is back and better than ever. If you haven't tried a cat eye look you are sure to want as this is one of Fall hottest makeup trends. There are many variations of the cat eyeliner from the subtle winged out eyeliner to the thick heavy liner on the lid worn by fashion mavens such as Kate Moss.

To achieve a cat eyeliner first start off by using an eye pencil or a liquid liner with a felt tip. Gently sweep liner across the lid and wing out liner at the corner of the eye. Practice makes perfect when it comes to doing a winged eyeliner, so don't get discouraged if you don't do it perfect the first time.

The first image is quite daring and would be a ideal for a night on the town, the white eyeliner in between the two lines adds a little edge to the typical cat eye.

The second image is just a basic cat eye that is relatively easy to do and is great for wearing at school and work.

Remember to have fun when wearing makeup and put your own twist on trends by experimenting with different colors and looks of the Cat Eye.
